Pasto celebrates it from late December into early January. January 5 is the Day of the Blacks, when people paint themselves with black makeup, and January 6 is the Day of the Whites, with talcum powder and the Grand Parade of floats. Before that come the children's Carnavalito, the Canto a la Tierra and the arrival of the Castañeda Family.
Dates change every year: confirm them with the town before you travel.
